ABOUT SLCC Archives & IR Digital Collections
- Administrative Units (within the Institution)
- Current SLCC Students can connect with the Institution through the SLCC Archives and IR Digital Collections by: (1) Learning about the History of the College and placing themselves within that context and (2) Accessing archival materials that support curriculum
- SLCC Faculty may utilize SLCC Archives and IR Digital Collections for: (1) Research, (2) Accessing or donating articles, books, and other materials in which an SLCC Faculty or member of Staff was a Creator, and (3) Utilizing the record of processes as reflected in the records of the institution (how departments, divisions, academic programs have evolved)
- Alumni/ae (The SLCC Archives and IR Digital Collections materials refresh their knowledge about the History and Mission of the Institution which is often perceived by alums as a significant factor in their development.)
- Researchers (from inside or outside of the institution): (1) Support the educational mission of SLCC and (2) The College can reach and serve a more broadly based research community (especially through the implementation of Exhibits and coordination with Outreach Committees and a Strategy for raising awareness of SLCC Archives and IR Digital Collections through other venues, such as historical societies).
The SLCC Archives and the Digital Collections in the Institutional Repository have been created with the express purpose to establish a program to collect, record, provide access to, archives, and preserve physical and digital materials from the Salt Lake Community College Community, including creative and scholarly works, as well as words that document the history of the College and reflect the intellectual and service environment of the College.
A College (or University) Archives and IR Digital Collections primarily server users throughout the supported Institution. This is also true for the SLCC Archives and IR Digital Collections. The following are the defined end-user groups that the SLCC Archives and IR Digital Collections aim to serve:
